Who we are
We’re a pair of friends joined by the same general background and personality. We’ve each spent the majority of our working lives on entrepreneurial pursuits, whatever the shit that means. We lean towards redneck but have learned enough along the way to enable us to do classy, too. Overall, we’re subversive but kind.
We were the kids who had problems with authority, and we turned into … well, the adults who have problems with authority.
Why we do this
Throughout our friendship, we’ve leaned on each other for support, information, and opinion as we pursued our respective business goals. While we’d both say we’re generally successful, 2017 tried to eat our asses for lunch. We battled head trips — impostor syndrome, self-worth, the residue of childhood poverty — and while we found sanctuary (as well as solid, actionable advice) in our friendship, we found ourselves wondering why there was no manual for people like us.
There’s a lot of discussion out there about entrepreneurship, for sure. You’re never more than two clicks from proven ways to increase sales or attract new clients with sexy design or the best approach to leveraging your contacts. But try to find something for women entrepreneurs battling their baggage?
Good luck with that.
So we’re here to give it a shot. We acknowledge that upward mobility is often a path littered with brain trash and dark backgrounds. We’re resolved to push forward anyway, and we’ll share those revelations in the hope that they become a flashlight for your own journey.
